Ever since the introduction of the Bass Pro Tour from Major League Fishing, vanity bass tournament trails have been popping up all over the country. We have just confirmed a humdinger of a new trail that is sure to take over something. Confirmed by Minnow Blog Insider Willie Funkybunch, the new tournament will be named Master Bait Makers (MBM) Tournament Trail.

The Master Bait Makers Tournament Trail founded by a handful of custom bait makers. They are setting the bass fishing world on fire with custom painted knock-off fishing lures. Their goal is to recruit a new breed of elite bass anglers. To become an elite bass angler in the Master Bait Maker Tournament Trail, they must all be active on YouTube and Instagram. Additionally, they must support all sponsors of the Master Bait Maker’s regardless of use of the company’s lures. Action cameras will be worn on their foreheads during all tournaments for the appearance of “Live Action”

Willie couldn’t confirm exactly what the format was or the location of the tournaments. When asked about the participants, he simply stated they were “Instagram Anglers” that nobody knew. Apparently, all profiles don’t have any actual pictures of fish just promotional lure pictures. Willie also stated that the anglers were all ready to start “jerking some bass” in the near future. Let’s all hope it’s not each other.

While we are still waiting for this breaking news to develop about the tournament. This group of unknown anglers will be fishing unknown locations is sure to be an Instagram hit with the moms of this supposed elite group of bass anglers.

On the heels of Wal-Mart’s recent news about not selling firearms and ammunition.  Wal-Mart is expecting to announce very soon that they will stop selling “Phishing Lures” according to a local Bentonville AR, hillbilly who may, or may not, have worked for Wal-Mart in the past.

The hillbilly stated he overheard a conversation with his ex-girlfriend, at a family reunion.

                “Wal-Mart execs are concerned about the safety of anglers and fish alike, along with all the customers who use computers to shop at Wal-Mart. These “Phishing Lures” present a real security concern to anglers and the health of the fish that they pursue. Since a majority of these lures are produced in China, the execs also feared the lures contained some sort of device that would make customers electronics vulnerable to hooking attacks.”

At Major League Fishing Stage 4 on Lake Chickamauga in Dayton TN, MLF Pro scored a record catch from a less than an ideal location; a boat dock. MLF being the newest professional fishing tournament is probably looking for ways to grow its grassroots programs to build the next generation of MLF angler.

The bank may just be that place to take professional fishing to the next level. Having a new bank fishing series aimed at bringing in the next generation of anglers inspired by Keith Poche himself. Keith found his luck was much better fishing from the dock forgoing his expensive boat.

The Minnow Blog also has received word that Major League Fishing may move to bank fishing for the 2020 season altogether. Insider knowledge from a professional angler who has recently made it big due to his 100 sponsors from National Pro Staff stated he was offered a spot on this team. He also mentioned that anglers would now be required to submit pictures of catches with backgrounds blurred out to not spot burn any locations.

Wouldn’t that be some shit if they actually did this!!! ; ‘ )

ANDERSON, SC – It was confirmed from a local source that Elite Series Pro Brandon Cobb, a native of South Carolina. The source stated, he used pet largemouth bass to secure his win on Lake Hartwell on the third stop of the Bassmaster Elite Series. His pet fish were critical in his domination at the scales and being the number 1 angler each day.

A local source who didn’t want to be identified stated, “I’ve known ol’ Cobb since he was a youngin’, and watching him through college has been fun”, “it’s those pet fish that he keeps on a catchin”.  This is a first heard for the Minnow Blog, who the heck has pet fish?

Cobb, a local who also fished through his college career at Clemson University and according to Bassmaster, Cobb was a little nervous that his local knowledge wouldn’t pan out for him. Well, that local knowledge definitely worked out and set him up for his first ever elite series win.

So could Cobb actually have pet fish on Hartwell, where he has fished since a little kid? We may never know, and the source will remain in secrecy due to his particular hair cut and only having only one tooth. How else does anyone weigh in the biggest bag each day at the scales?

Seriously though, congrats to Brandon Cobb for pulling out an absolute dominating presence for this elite series event. I’m sure this won’t be the last we hear from Brandon Cobb.  

Welcome to the Minnow Blog. I find it fitting that the first official post helps those who get there feeling hurt on social media, get help! Let’s face it, fisherman are one tough crowd. You won’t find very many people who can’t catch fish, but sure as shit, they will bash someone on Facebook.
